Professional Beauty Awards 2012

I opened the Professional Beauty Awards 2012 yesterday on behalf of Ovarian Cancer.

March is Ovarian cancer Awareness month and the official charity to partner the Professional Beauty trade show.

As over 35,000 women are expected to visit the show, it was a perfect opportunity to highlight the importance of being aware of the main symptoms of ovarian cancer. Persistent stomach pain, persistent bloating or increased stomach size, difficulty eating or feeling full quickly, needing to wee more frequently. I wanted to look my best as it was such a glamorous event. Top makeup artist Daniel Sandler, who was also making an appearance at the show, transformed me with his beautiful make up and professional skill. How lucky was I!

  • Prep: Retexturising Face Primer
  • Base : Invisible Radiance foundation and Concealer in Beige
  • Powder: Invisible Blotting Powder
  • Bronzer: Mineral Finishing Powder in Spice Twice

I was given lots of products to try out including, iiaa Iternational Institute for anti-ageing, Jessica, Mii Cosmetics, Clarins and Decleor. It was like Christmas! So hopefully in the next few weeks after I have tried my lotions and potions I will be looking at least 5 years younger! I will keep you posted and review the products so you know which are the best to try out too.

My best ever beauty tip is to
" Enliven dreary skin and re-energise the complexion with a gentle stimulating facial massage using a little moisturiser for at least two minutes, your skin will thank you for it .

"My celebs like Nell, are often flying around the world and being on planes screws up their skin so this not only makes them feel like a million dollars but the make-up glides on and they look like a million dollars."

Another Beauty tip is
" Pop a little fresh rosey pink blush onto cheeks . Immediately the whole complexion looks alive and even eyes look more sparkling.

"A trick I do using the same blusher for a daytime look is to rub it onto the lips using my middle finger , and then apply clear lip gloss to bring lips to life and tone in with cheeks "

Help for Heroes Celebrity Golf Day at Stoke Park
 
I was so pleased to be able to help out with the charity golf day. I was even more pleased that my job was inside on registration with Emma, Steve, Chris and Lee, rather than on the green as it was one of the wettest days this year! It was lovely to be working with a team of people from Bolton, you really can't beat 'northern folk'!
The weather didn't stop a good turn out of golfers though, each team headed by a celebrity player. Over £130,000 was raised in total. A fantastic amount for a very worthy cause.
Thanks John for the delicious pasties, they went down a treat!
